I was reading Nick Vujicic's book, Life Without Limits. (If you haven't read it, I highly recommend it.) In chapter seven "Don't Let Your Face Plant Grow Roots", it discusses the fear of failure. While I was reading those words of motivation and drive, this line came to me, which is pretty much a summary of what Nick discusses, "Failure isn't a step back, it's a step on track."
The fear of failure is like the fear of falling. We all want to achieve great heights in life, but so afraid of what might happen that we keep our feet planted on the ground and never take that leap of faith. We all dream of flying but are scared of falling. As Shakira's song, "Try Everything" in Zootopia states, "Birds don't just fly; they fall down and get up."
Failure is a step forward. A necessary step on the path of success. There are times we are unable to fly. At those times it's okay to fall, as long as the direction is forward, towards our goals. Failure=falling forward. Giving up=falling back.
We all have the power to succeed. Make the change/choice. Keep the focus. Protect the progress. Let your focus not be on what you've done. Focus instead on who you can become! Learn from the past, but live the present and look to the future.
My motto of Always forward, Never Back echos Disney's, "Keep Moving Forward" and never give up.
